Unreathable

2040

Unbreathable explores the physical and mental boundaries that define our reality. Some are tangible, while others are invisible, shaped by societal norms, stereotypes, and beliefs. The visual metaphor of plastic film in the project symbolizes these barriers—its transparency represents areas we can’t fully understand, while its limited flexibility alludes to the constraints imposed by stereotypes.

The project also addresses the global ecological crisis caused by the overproduction and misuse of plastic, which is destroying the planet. The human figure in the images is portrayed amidst various restrictions, which, although aesthetically intriguing, are the result of imposed limitations. The stylized imagery aims to seduce the viewer into believing this state is acceptable, while beneath the surface, suffocation—and ultimately death—occurs, beautiful yet brutal and real.

Is this the vision of our future? Are we willing to drown our world in plastic for the fleeting satisfaction of being the first to touch a new product? Will we remain wrapped in layers of indifference and hypocrisy until we run out of air? This project draws attention to both the ecological crisis and the societal stereotypes we are all entangled in. Above all, Unbreathable highlights the growing indifference that reduces others to mere objects, limiting our perception to superficial values. Through this project, I express my subtle yet firm opposition to the marginalization of individuals and their worth.
