TomTom - Move Portal / Contracts
During the employee exchange program in TomTom I was working as UX designer (generalist) in Traffic & Travel Information departament. My responsibilites were related to the UX/UI design of the Move Portal.
In this story I would like to tell about the challange of designing the new functionality (the contracts) in the existing system (Move Portal).
CHALLANGE:
Design and introduce a new functionality of Move Portal - the contracts.
The contract is a representation of agreement between the user and the application provider. The problem was complex, as the existing solution was working for a time on a different basis. The changes that had to be introduced affected the whole system.
I joined the Move Portal team when the design process for the contracts was already ongoing. There was set of interviews with the users conducted - I could watch the videos and read the summaries of the meetings. That gave me an idea of what is the real problem to be solved there.
I received the initial designs (wireframes) from the UX Lead and continued the design process.
I went back to the users for some additional answers that I desired to clarify some missing pieces. I used 1-to-1 method, as it fitted perfectly my needs.

In the next phase I have drawn the whole system in Sketch. I have covered each view with the wireframes and added the new functionalities. I wanted to make sure, that we're not missing anything in the user flow.
Next I used InVision (Craft plugin) to create a clickable prototype.
wireframes / clickable prototype for Move Portal with contracts functionality included
Creating clickable prototype allowed me to present IxA in the system and test it immediately on the design level.
I have to admit it was quite a challange - everytime a small change was intrduced into the design, the whole interaction design has to be verified and updated.

The prototype has been tested internally by the UX Team and the Move Portal Team. I collected the feedback and applied changes.
Eventually, I've presented the prototype to the first round of the users. The users insights were great, I could improve the design and adjust it better to the users needs.
Unfortunatelly, my contract ended and I had to leave the team. But before I left, I managed to create high fidelity designs for the key screens. I'm crossing my fingers and can't wait the project to be live!
