RevoTV - TvBox Platform
I joined TVSat364 team as a UX Designer / UX Lead. I was very exited to work in this project, as the platfom was new for me. As I expected - the user experience was completely different from typical desktop / web applications that I used to know.
THE CHALLANGE: To design the system dedicated for TvBoxes
With User Center Design approach, keeping in mind that the platform itself (the box) has technical restrictions and system control device is a remote control.
Research & Analysis
I've started the whole UX design process with very intense research:
The target group was already using an old system, based on different hardware. Thanks to that I could perform user interviews - with a help of customer service desk and through the surveys.
Finally, I combined business requirements with users needs and designed the map of user-flows.
Once the flows have been reviewed, discussed with the working user group and polished, I approached to design first ideas.
Ideation
An antient method - pencil and paper :-) - is one of my favourites.
Once I had the sketches in a shape I am happy with, I presented them to the team. Though, we've been working partially remote on that time, so I turned my sketches into digital. I present some examples below.

Prototyping
As the UX design is always an iteration process, I've been discussing the wireframes with the working users group and stakeholders over and over again. I've created a clickable prototype out of wireframes for better user flows representation. It was also very important to design IxA with the remote control. I performed a lot of testing by myself and with the team. I covered all user flows with the proper diagrams.

In parallel to IxA design and testing the prototype, I started to create high-fidelity mockups. Together with the team we've decided that static images are enough, so I created them from the scratch in Adobe Photoshop. I am presenting the examples below.
Testing
We've been testing the clickable prototype internally constantly. The employes of TVSat (who were also the users of TVBoxes at their homes) were providing a lot of valuable feedback. Especially the customer service workers, who knew the users best were sharing great insights.
Once we had MVP implemented, we've decided to involve the real users into testing round. The customers of TVSat got access to the new system and provided the feedback immediately. I could easily identify the problems they had (e.g. the font was too small in certain places, or they needed additional description of particular functionalities). Immediately, I made the corrections in the designs and they were incorporated into the working product.
This step was repeated a bunch of times, untill we manage to address all the users feedback.
